J’adore Bisous Bisous

The moment I laid eyes on Bisous Bisous I thought it was one of the most beautiful shops I had seen. Nestled in Didsbury village, you are whisked away to gay Paris upon entering this traditional French patisserie.

I have a penchant for macarons and was lured in by the prettiest pastel display. The    taste matched the looks as I purchased a  few, went for a coffee after my visit and snaffled them right away.

The inscription on the side of the boxes ‘as beautiful as it tastes’ is a perfect summation. Row upon row of delectable creations fill the counters. Everything is made in store every day by head pastry chef Olivier Stievenard and team, beginning each morning at an unearthly hour ready to grace the displays. Such skill goes into creating each eclair, macaron and tartelette, this is not just food, it’s art.

Alongside the sweet concoctions you can buy freshly baked bread & croissants – what better way to start the day.

The attention to detail is evident in every element of the shop. The decor – the colours, the counters, the presentation. The beautiful packaging makes it almost a shame to open – almost.

Stunning celebration cakes are also available to order.

I can’t wait to visit again, to treat myself or someone else. I’ll be dropping serious hints to my other half, surely as a hardworking mum on this upcoming Mother’s Day I deserve a macaron of two, non?

Bisous Bisous can be found at 663 Wilmslow Rd, Didsbury, Manchester M20 6RA

Nood – Independent style

image

I love paying a visit to Chorlton’s Beech Road for a number of reasons. The cafes, restaurants, shops and the independent spirit. Another of these reasons is womenswear store ‘Nood’.

I can guarantee I will find a plethora of effortlessly elegant styles that will make great additions to my wardrobe.

Quality and style can be found in pieces that are current but also have a timeless appeal and will be worn season after season. As a mum of two young children, I’m a big fan of pieces that can take me from day to night, that can be dressed up up or down. I consistently find this at Nood.

You’ll find Danish design from brands ‘Ichi’ and ‘B.young’ and jewellery from ‘Pilgrim’. Vintage inspired dresses from ‘Emily and Fin’ whose classic styles are updated each season with new fabrics. Gorgeous scarves, accessories and more  jewellery from ‘Tutti & Co’.

Nood are passionate about ethical fashion and knowing where your clothes are from. Sharing rail space with British designers ‘Sugarhill’ are fair trade pioneers ‘People tree’ and ‘Komodo’. Ensuring the clothes are made in good working conditions using sustainable methods. The antithesis of ‘fast fashion’ and throwaway trends.

Continuing this ethos are bags from ‘Mat & Natt’. A luxe vegan brand who use recycled materials in their pieces. The range of styles and colours are gorgeous and prove that ethical fashion doesn’t mean skimping on style and needn’t cost the earth.

With more Spring/summer stock arriving weekly (come on sun!) I can’t wait to check out the new arrivals.
